Durability Matters
If there’s one thing we’ve learned during the years, it’s that durability matters when it comes to your home's exterior paint. When applied correctly, multiple coats create an armor-like layer around your house – shielding it from Florida's weather extremes, like sun, moisture, rain and storms.
You might think applying more than one coat is unnecessary, but let me ask: Would you spend an entire day at the beach with only an SPF 15 sunblock applied just once and expect this to protect your skin for the entire day, or would you opt for a higher SPF applied multiple times throughout the day to offer your skin the protection it needs? The same logic applies to painting.
One coat of a good quality paint can last between 5-7 years with proper maintenance, two coats of a high quality paint can last over 10 years with proper maintenance, two coats of a top of line paint, can last 15+ years with proper maintenance!

The Quality Of The Paint
You get what you pay for with paint quality. Higher-end paints have better pigments and binders, which provide superior coverage, adhesion, and protection. While these paints may cost more upfront, ultimately you save money in the long run due to the extra durability they provide.

The BIG question here in SWFL with it's primarily stucco homes is.... When repainting your home, is 1 coat of a primer/sealer and 1 coat of a high quality paint equal to 2 coats of a high quality paint?
In our opinion, the answer is no. There are some situations where the 1 coat primer/sealer and 1 coat of a high quality paint may be appropriate, but for the majority of our customers, we recommend using 2 coats of a high quality paint. This ensures maximum uniformity in coverage, longevity, durability, and protection for your home for years to come.
